‘Twas The Night Before 🎄Christmas!

Forget the milk 🥛 and cookies 🍪 !  This year, why not leave Santa 🎅🏼 a little something extra special?  It’s been a long season of assembling, wrapping and delivering gifts 🎁 .  You Santa can finally take a break and put his (or her) feet up.  Why not make it a sweet-sensation-of-a-livation?  A holiday cocktail 🍸 that is  oozing in holiday spirit.  It’s a Peppermint-Tini Cocktail.  This drink is so creamy, with the flavors of chocolate 🍫  and peppermint.  Its delicious and just a little bit naughty.   Put a log on the fire 🔥 , hit that holiday play list 🎼 and relax with a sinfully tasty, strictly-over-21, adult time treat, a Peppermint-Tini Cocktail

I’m promoting this popular tipple early in the season, so you’ll have plenty of time to perfect your cocktail making  and shaking skills before the big night!

Making a signature cocktail for the holidays is always fun and if you’re expecting guests, they’ll love the thought you put into it.  This one is very easy to make and you probably have all the ingredients gathering dust in a cabinet somewhere anyway.  (Unless you’re me, then it’s out in plain sight, waiting for you to make this cocktail.)  This drink gets a super festive look from a pretty glass, rimmed in crushed peppermint sticks.  I bet this is what Santa would hand out if it were adults that lined up to tell him what they really wanted for Christmas.

The Peppermint-Tini Cocktail 🍸🎄❄️

This cocktail looks pretty and so festive in a martini or stemmed cocktail glass.

Put a handful of peppermint candies or candy canes into a zip lock bag and smash them with a wooden spoon or flatten them with a dough pin.  Put the pieces onto a small plate.

Rim the glasses with a tiny bit of honey, then run the rim through the crushed candies.  Set the cocktail glasses in the freezer for a few minutes to get ❄️ icy cold.

Into a shaker filled 1/2 with ice, add 1 1/2 ounces of vodka, 1 1/2 ounces of clear creme de cacao, 1 ounce of milk or half and half or cream, which ever your prefer, from lighter to darn right decadent, then add 1/8 teaspoon of peppermint extract.  Shake vigorously, at least 20 seconds.

Remove the cocktail glass from the freezer, then strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.  Garnish with a candy cane.  Repeat steps for each cocktail.  Cheers and Merry Christmas!
