βοΈA Perky Pick-Me-Up To Buzz About!πΈ
This is one BUZZ worthy cocktail! If you love βοΈ coffee. And you enjoy a delicious cocktail πΈ from time to time. Well, this is the Over 21-Adult Only, Beverage for you, a Espresso Martini Cocktail! I could put all kinds of disclaimers on the potentials perils, but the bottom line is, it’s delicious. However, if you like them too much, you may want to keep this one for the brunch bunch. Caffeine is real, my friends! Too many of these may keep you up all night long!
I read that it is believed to have been invented at the request of Kate Moss. Sometime in the Late 80’s in London, she apparently requested a cocktail that would not only “F her up, but keep her up all night tooβ. Take this as a public service announcement – Truth!
I tried this recently thinking I wouldn’t really love it….but I was wrong! It’s so delicious. But if you start drinking this with your morning paper, well, not a great idea!π. If caffeine keeps you up, go with the decaf, as long as it’s a good espresso, it is delicious! The quality of the espresso completely makes this drink! If Caffeine does you wrong, just make it with a good shot of decaf espresso and you’re good to go. I hear caffeine doesn’t effect some people, is that true for you?
Here’s how to make a delicious and beautiful Espresso Martini Cocktail.
Shaken, Not Stirred
This martini starts with a shaker filled 1/2 way with ice. To the shaker, add 2 ounces of vodka, 1/2 ounce of Kahlua or other coffee liqueur. Next add 1 shot of espresso (regular or decaf) and 1/2 ounce of simple syrup. Take it up another notch with a couple dashes of chocolate bitters. Shake vigorously, at least 30 seconds, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish the top with 3 whole coffee beans.
Buzz Spin-Make a Dessert!
Want to try a spin on the classic? Once you’ve strained the cocktail into your glass, add a touch of cream. Using the back of your spoon, gently pour 1 ounce of half and half or cream onto the top of the cocktail πΈ, making careful to lay the π cream on the top. Then, top with the 3 coffee beans. Drink by sipping up through the cream. Serve with a few chocolate covered espresso beans. Unlike the raw coffee beans that float on top, the espresso beans will sink. I know because I tried it. Although, finding a chocolate covered espresso bean at the bottom of this drink is not a bad thing at all!
Cheers!
